It’s Lisa here, and I’m ready to welcome you into the amazing world of food. Some might call me “obsessed” (guilty!) because I’m constantly researching, learning, and experimenting with food to maximize its potential to improve our lives.
When I was finishing nutrition school, a client asked me to make meals for her because she hated cooking. I started with her meals and simultaneously discovered a practical way to help people get the food they need with the convenience they desire.
From there, I began watching first hand how fueling our bodies with the right kind of foods could give people energy and focus to enjoy their lives more fully. This is something most people want but don’t know how to achieve. With all the information-gathering and experimenting I’d done, I felt like I had a huge secret that could unlock a new path to living for people, and I just had to share it. It was here that Meals by Lisa was born.

At Meals by Lisa, we cook with real food and no sugar. Sugar hypes us up then lets us down, and I’m done with its tricks. We cook with fat because it’s a friend to full tummies which leads to living with energy, focus, and wellness. Getting used to the idea of eating fat can be hard since we’ve been warned to stay away from it by every weight loss ad on the planet. But good, healthy fats are a winning ingredient, and we want to help you experience them in a fresh way.
We manage to make delicious, filling meals all while skipping common go-to’s like gluten, grains, sugar substitutes, vegetable oil & seed oils. You'll find that your taste buds won’t miss these ingredients, and your body won’t either. We believe in using food you love and that
loves you back.
None of us has a perfect track record with healthy eating, and we all get stuck in habits that are hard to break. Wherever you are on the nutrition spectrum, you’re not too far gone to start making shifts that will give you higher satisfaction and more energy to live your life.

I was born and raised in Ottawa, but my country-boy husband and I now make our home in the small town of Arnprior. I’m a Nutrition Advocate and Coach as well as a PT, & Spin Instructor at Elevate Spin. If I’m in my kitchen (which I often am), I’m probably cooking to the sounds of the latest true crime podcast or on my way to use our home gym or sit around our backyard fire.
I place a high value on learning, and I plan to be a student for the rest of my life. I always seem to be taking a class in something, so I’d say so far so good! I use food to fuel and help my body, which has been especially important throughout our fertility treatments from 2019 to now.
